ABOUT

Alayisha and Langston are a R&B, soul, funk, and blues duo from New York City who combines the soulful voice of singer Alayisha Goddard and the fervent rhythms of multi-instrumentalist Langston Kosoff. Together, the two 17-year-olds write, record, and produced their own music.

The duo debuted in their first studio album, "Cheap Love." The venture to create an album first began in December of 2016.

Goddard wrote "Love is Not My Friend" and reached out to Kosoff to try and "funk it up." After this collaboration, the Alayisha and Langston experience began. For the next four months, 13 more songs were written, recorded, and produced, and "Cheap Love" was finally complete.By early May of 2017 Alayisha and Langston's debut album was released on Bandcamp. A month later, "Cheap Love" appeared on Spotify, iTunes, and Google Play

From a young age, Goddard wanted to sing. Born in Staten Island and raised in Brooklyn, Alayisha Goddard was first introduced to R&B, soul, and rap by her parents. Goddard was enchanted by the way all the instruments and rhythm come together together while always hearing something new in the music she listens to.Goddard became inspired by artists like Beyoncé, Mary J Blige, Ledisi, Rihanna, and Tank and the Bangas.

Born and raised in, Brooklyn, Langston Kosoff, was been captured by the feeling and emotion conveyed by blues, funk, R&B and soul. A self-taught musician, Kosoff is influenced by blues and funk guitarist such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eddie Hazel, and B.B King as well as contemporary artists like Gary Clark Jr., Alabama Shakes, and The Black Keys
